They can never fly up above
I miss you
like the last leaf of autumn misses
the sunrise
Falling leaf on the ground,
it wishes for another day, but its time is up. Final. Done.
It shall not be here tomorrow
I miss you
in whispers of
a brokenheart
I miss you
in tears of sorrow and
laughter of joy
I miss you
in unspoken words,
in many unknown days of the future
Lia Tjokro lahir di Palembang dan menghabiskan masa kanak-kanak sampai remajanya di sana sebelum pindah ke Singapura, lalu ke Amerika. Di Amerika ia menyelesaikan pendidikan S1, S2, dan S3 di bidang psikologi kognitif/neurosains kognitif. Setelah meraih gelar Ph.D-nya, ia sempat bekerja selama beberapa tahun sebagai dosen di National University of Singapore (NUS). Ia kini berdomisili di Belanda bersama suami, anak, dan anabulnya. Karya novel cetak debutnya berjudul Sang Pemanah Matahari (Tisapinkluv, 2023). Tulisannya juga sudah terbit di majalah-majalah sastra: Porch Litmag, Kitaab, The Citron Review, dan Mekong Review.
