Dik, di antara selipan kondemu telah kubenam rasaku
Pada tiap kibasan helai rambutmu,
Yang kau gelung serupa roda-roda kehidupan
Sungguh dalam tiap lipatan kembenmu ada alegori-alegori
Asmara sejarah peradaban manusia
Yang rela berurai tanah di atas bumi demi sekedar
menyebut namamu
Yang melepas hunus ujung panah, tombak
dengan mata merah bertumpah darah; satria-satria itu
Cuma buat mengenangmu
Dik, dalam senandung tembang ada titip salamku
buat peluh yang hinggap pada tonjolan tulang pipimu
Menjelma jadi tapis, menyelendangkan keris-keris
yang tercerabut dari bungkusnya
Memadamkan kabar dengki dan dusta mereka yang
bermandi sumpah serapah
Dendam dan amarah
Hanya untuk merebut hati
Dik, kini aku datang
Bukan disertai rapal mantra dan tenung
Melangkah berbekal pena
dan carikan kertas
Serta gubahan puisi pengisi hati
Perlahan memudar, layaknya mawar yang kusemat
di bawah jendelamu

VERSE OF A ROSE
Love, between the fold of your hairbun
I’ve buried my longing
In every flick of your strands of hair
that you’ve coiled like the wheels of life
In each pleat of your tube top lies the allegories
The romance of civilization’s history
who are willing to unravel the soil upon this earth
just to utter your name
Who loosed the edges of arrows and spears,
with crimson eyes covered with blood; those warriors
Just to keep the memories of you
Love, with a serenade I give my greeting
for the sweat that rests upon your cheekbones
Turning into a sieve, draping the blades of keris
upraised from their sheaths
Quenching tales of envy and lies
of those who drenched in curses
Resentment and rage
All to conquer a heart
Love, now I return
Not with spells or incantations
But stepping forward with only a pen
and a slip of paper
With verses composed to fill your heart
Fading gently, like the rose I placed
beneath your window
